Besides being a strong Fraternal Organization, we are also a collective bargaining unit (Union).

Under the PERB statute, we can negotiate with the University Administration for a contract.

All ranks within the K.U Police Department, Kansas City Campus, are welcome to join our F.O.P.

The Collective Bargaining Unit can only negotiate for the rank of Officer and Corporal. Our lodge also provides a Legal Defense Fund and life insurance available to ALL members regardless of rank.

Members pay monthly dues (payroll deducted) that go toward our yearly percapita tax, insurance, community fundraisers such as the Feed A Family program or other expenses our lodge incurs.

Our lodge has an executive board with specific duties outlined in the Constitution and Bylaws of Lodge 37.

Know your contract..

Memorandum of Agreement contains the terms and conditions of YOUR employment along with specific legal, enforceable rights that you and the administration must abide by. If you do not have a copy of the contract, ask a board member for it.

F.O.P Pin

Our lodge achieved the ability for YOU to wear the authorized F.O.P pin on your uniform. As insignificant as this may seem, this came from long detailed contract negotiations. Remember, the negotiations are handled by dedicated individuals who spent many hours working for YOU. Always wear your pin as a sign of support and loyalty for your F.O.P. The pins are available to members. If you do not have one, ask an E-Board member for one.

Get involved! Stay Involved!

Communicate. Attend Lodge meetings, local as well as State meetings, where you will get to know others who are in similar situations such as yours. Ask questions, express ideas, know your F.O.P representatives, officers, and other members– National, State and Local. Participate in fundraisers for your lodge and other lodges. Offer assistance to other brothers and sisters who need help and have questions. Serve on committees, hold an office. The lodge is only as good as it’s members and their commitment.
